Niefernburg on the edge of the Black Forest is one of the few closed living groups in Germany. Girls, who have not yet been reached by any other help, are locked up there, to learn how to deal with freedom.
Spiegel reporter Julia Kopatzki and I have been to Niefernburg several times. We’ve met girls who have learned that they are too much - for parents, teachers, their friends or the boy they love. Girls who ended up with guys who pushed them into prostitution or traded drugs for sex. Girls who otherwise made us think of ourselves at 13.
